설립 목적

한양대학교 현대영화연구소는 동시대 인문학, 사회과학, 예술학과의
융합적 연구를 통해 21세기 영화학의 새로운 학문적 패러다임을 구축하기 위해 2005년 설립된 연구기관이다.

현대영화연구소는 영화 역사와 미학, 비평을 현대적 관점으로 재해석, 재규정하고 매체와 예술의 융합적인 관계를 새롭게 탐구한다.
이를 통해 영화학의 지평을 넓힘으로써 영화 연구의 새로운 패러다임을 창출하는 데 기여하는 것을 목표로 한다.

현대영화연구소는 국내 영화연구의 발전과 국외 영화연구와의 교류를 위한 허브 역할을 수행한다.

이러한 목적에서, 현대영화연구소는 매년 학술대회, 콜로키움, 시민강좌를 개최하며, 한국영화 총서 및 학술지 현대영화연구(등재지), CineEast(영문저널)를 발간함으로써 국내외 연구를 선도적으로 수행한다.

About COCRI

The Contemporary Cinema Research Institute at Hanyang University(COCRI) is a university-based research organization which was established in 2005 in order to frame a new academic paradigm for cinema studies in the 21st century, by promoting its multidisciplinary approaches to the Arts and Humanities.

The institute aims to explore the contemporary status of cinema as an aesthetic, industrial, and cultural phenomenon in relation to both the prognosis on that of its future and the rediscovery of that of its past.

The Contemporary Cinema Research Institute is solely devoted to leading the development of cinema studies in Korea and to playing its role as the central hub for domestic and international scholars in the fields to join together and exchange their ideas.

For its such a purpose, the Institute annually holds colloqiua, lectures, and conferences and publishes the book series of The Contemporary Korean Cinema and the quarterly academic journal Contemporary Cinema Studies.

And our institute is now carrying out the most fascinating research projects in Korea.
